Privacy policy
Here is what the current Buddy Revival tool does with the information you provide.
No account or photo upload
Buddy Revival does not require you to create an account or upload a photograph. The avatar editor uses character assets delivered with the site. It does not send your avatar to an AI image service.
What is saved on your device
The editor uses local storage under the key buddyrevival to remember your character looks and, if you enter them, your name and your friend’s name. These preferences stay in that browser and are not synchronized to an online account.
Browser storage can be unavailable in some settings. Clearing this site’s browser storage removes the saved preferences. Copy any buddy codes you want to keep before clearing it.
Buddy codes and links
A buddy code contains appearance choices. When a code is included in a URL using the buddy query parameter, it is part of that link and can appear in browser history or hosting access logs. Anyone you give the code to can use it to restore the look.
Downloaded files and sharing
PNG images and GIF or MP4 animations are generated in your browser. A downloaded animation may include any names or caption you choose. If you use the Share button, the device share sheet sends that file to the app or destination you select; that destination has its own privacy practices.
Website statistics
We use Plausible Analytics, hosted at analytics.zeros.im, to understand visits, pageviews, referring sources, and aggregate country, device, and browser statistics. This integration does not use tracking cookies or send the names, captions, or buddy codes entered in the editor.
Before sending a page URL, the site removes buddy codes, other non-campaign query parameters, and URL fragments. Referrer URLs are also stripped of query parameters and fragments. Standard campaign parameters such as utm_source and utm_campaign may be retained for traffic attribution. Collection is limited to buddyrevival.com and www.buddyrevival.com; local development and other preview hosts are excluded.
Hosting requests
Your browser requests the page, scripts, images, and character resources from the site’s hosting provider, and requests the analytics script from analytics.zeros.im. Hosting and analytics infrastructure process ordinary connection information such as an IP address and requested URL. The site adds no advertising scripts or tracking cookies.
